Like every day for the past 53 days, a cracked window is a nice reprieve for the four of us as we spend the day pacing dozens of steps and absorbing light from screens.

For the past couple weeks, a man at the top of 33 St. James Place has been launching fireworks during the 7:00 p.m. applause for essential workers.

But his efforts have been ramping up. For the past two days, he has been launching higher-caliber fireworks, making the neighborhood’s applause a lot more festive with the additional firepower.

Thanks to him and everyone else reminding us that we’re in this together.
